Resurrection Pitcher
This pitcher was underglazed with airbrush, clearcoated with a glossy clear glaze, then fired to cone 6. The images reflect the content of Jesus resurrection from the dead. On the front just below the mouth of the pitcher are 3 empty crosses. On one side of the pitcher is the empty tomb with the stone rolled away and the sun rising in the background. On the opposite side is a picture of Mary kneeling at the feet of our risen Lord. I Corinthians 15 is the most debated text regarding the resurrection. "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles." This creed is dated by scholars to within a decade after Jesus death.
