DESCRIPTION: As mentioned previously Jesus was born to die. The penalty for our sin is death as ordained by God. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Hebrews 9:22 states, "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." Jesus lived a perfect life among us and became the atoning sacrifice for our sins, our sacrificial lamb by whose death fellowship with God could be restored. As John said of Jesus "Behold, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
